Summer Heat
June can only be discribed as average. The dolfin were small, the kingfish were good and big.The Ajs were active and there were some Sailfish around. We did have alot of Barracudas destroying both baits and hooked fish. All in all we caught alot of fish and had an above average good time.Im writing this a bit late because we have been fishing the islands a good part of July.July report will have some good island fishing reports.

Wonderful May
The fishing has been great with every speceis here. The Sailfish were very active. Also the big drag smoking Blackfin are here and lets not forget the big smokin Kingfish which have been lighting off our spinners. The Mutton Snapper have also been on the edge and on the wrecks. I hope to see new faces and all my regulars soon so we can bend some rods.IT looks like June is also going to be a good month.Just this morning we had our limit of Kings by 10am.Well have to go,I think I have a bunch of drag washers to change.

April Madness
It seems that due to our cold winter everything is running behind schedule. The big tunas are not here yet, very few being caught. Then again the sailfish have been very good. Some days so good they were fighting the dolfin over the baits.Oh by the way some really nice dolfin have been showing up on the edge. Also the big kingfish are roaming. We caught several nice size and a couple over 30lbs.We had days of dolfin not letting the sailfish eat, all in all not a bad thing. Also days of the customer saying"its another sailfish, you take it Im tired".So as you can tell April was great fun.Im sure May will be exciting and those nice tuna will show up along with the big dolfin.See you in May.

March fun
This month was alot of fun.The Dolfin started coming thru some days in close others in 4 to 6 hundred feet. Also a nice amount of Wahoo in close. The Ajs are still good on the wrecks. The Sailfish have been hit and miss with some very active days and some slow.Although the begining of April has brought alot of Sailfish in,so lets see if that continues. We also had the Hammerhead sharks in shallow which has made for some good fun.The weather was so so in march with still some uncommon cold spells.Since the begining of April its been great. All in all March was good with alot of fish caught but April has started with a bang and looks better than March. So lets go fishing.

February Variety
This month brought us an array of species.Nothing red hot but a good variety. The Sailfish have been here but not in great numbers. The Kingfish have been better to the south. The busiest have been the Amberjacks on the wrecks with a bite or a hook-up on every drop. Also some nice Dolfin have been coming thru, not large numbers but nice size.If you find a frigate bird there will be a fish under it.Give me a call and lets go fishing.

hello 2010
Its been a great January.Even with the cold weather the fishing was good.We (of course)went night time swordfishing on the coldest night in 25 years. Our customers were Russian so they were used to the cold, but they were not used to the 4 to 6ft. seas.So after shall we say, some stomach adjustments and 2hrs in to our drift we hooked our sword for the night. After a1hr. fight and everyone getting a bit wet in 38 degree weather. It was time to go and sip on some cognac at the dock. WE also had a good run of Sailfish and a great run of Kingfish. The majority of trips were also good for a mutton or two on the bottom. So as allways come down and lets go fishing.

December holidays
The sailfish are here, not exactlly jumping in the boat but enough of them to have some fun. Also the wrecks are coming alive with alot of amberjacks and a few groupers. There have been a few dolfin in close and of course the kingfish are very active. From the looks of December its going to be a great year of fishing with all the species making their appearance in good numbers. We are close to the end of January and so far its been great so I will have alot to write about next month. As allways tight lines and hope to see all of you soon.

November Transition
In the begining of November we saw some dolphin and some blackfin tuna in 600 to 800ft.Then in the mid part of the month a few sails came in and made for some fun.The kingfish were few but good size. With very little current if any in close the fish were scattered about. The end of the month continued the same, with no large numbers of one species but fair numbers of all species combined. So all in all still alot of fish were caught and a good time was had by all.So as usual I say come on down and lets go catch some fish.

Hello October
October came in with a bunch of Dolphin. We did Dolphin the first week of October ,all nice size including a 40lbs. bull caught on Sunday. The fish were from 350ft to 900ft.All were in weed lines. Then as soon as they were here they were gone.So back to the edge we went. The wrecks were productive with a few Ajs being picked off.The kingfish were available in 120ft both on the troll and live bait. The nice surprise are the Cobia being caught with the Kingfish. So as always there are fish to be caught so give us a call and lets go fishing.

Summer Report
Summer came in with good numbers in Dolfin and large numbers of big Kingfish on the edge. Then in July the Dolfin became fewer and fewer to the point that the offshore run was not worth it.There are Dolfin to be caught but they are hard to find and few in numbers. The sailfish are on the edge and very active on breezy days.August has brought in the Wahoos on current lines and floaters. Also more Bonito than we know what to do with. The wrecks have been great with alot of big Ajs being caught. We went to Bimini for a week and did our share of Yellow Eye and Grouper and of course all the Barracuda one can stand. The trolling off Isac was slow but the deep drops were great. Also alot of Yellowtail on the reef.We came back from Bimini last week and fished a few days. There was a brisk 15KT wind which made for good sailfish activity. All in all there are alot of fish to be caught and they are waiting for you so come and visit with us .

Summer time a coming
The end of April left us with alot of wind and alot of sailfish. The sailfish were very busy on the edge and the dolfin were big and plentifull. Then May came in and the winds shut down and so did the sailfish. There were a few sails in the mornings with the morning breze then slow in the pm hours. The dolfin moved offshore some but most were good size.We found the dolfin out in 1000ft. on the way to the swordfish grounds.Once we got to the swordfish grounds the bite started at 830pm and didnt stop.We boated a small 65pounder first then a larger 165pounder shortly thereafter. We had another couple of bites after the last fish but they did not hookup. So at midnight we picked up the lines and went home with very happy clients and a whole bunch of meat.A good time was had by all.

Sailfish fun
The begining of the week was a bit slow,a few kings here and there(good size to them )and some bonito. Then later in the week a weak cold front came thru and changed everything. There were dolfin in close and sailfish everywhere from 90 feet to 250 feet.It was truly a great weekend of fishing. Our morning half on saturday consisted of a bunch of dolfin and a sailfish. The afternoon half was even better,a nice cobia,a cuda,6 sailfish tagged and released and a few dolfin for dinner. So as usual, come on down and lets go fishing.

hammer time
march ended with a good run of dolfin and some sailfish.april has begun with some big blackfins and those surface cruising hammerheads.t-heads are fun because you can throw them a bait and watch them eat.just be sure its attached to a really big rod.while kite fishing we had one of these battleships try to eat our baits so i backed the boat to it and threw a whole bonnito attached to an 80 wide with 200lb. braid on it.1 hour and 20 min. later we boated a very prenant 10ft 2in female hammerhead.its on the boat because the marine biology dept. at F.I.U. has been wanting a pregnant shark for research.then i tell adam(mate-midwife)reach in and pull those pups out 13 swimming little t-heads later we were done.so back to the dock with a very tired angler named scott and a very excited marine biologist named jen waiting for us we go. in the last week we have been invaded by sailfish.by invasion i mean as many as 10 fish being hooked up on a half day.so come on down and lets go fishing.

threser
while shark fishing on tuesday, with 3 big baits out.after an hour of no action the mate yells out go go go,i look back at our spread(need to check because adam sometimes gets very excited for nothing)and see the mid bait balloon gone so i hit the throttles and it didnt take long for the line to start coming out like a train was on the other end.after about what seemed like days and about 1500ft of 200lb. test braid was lost ,we were able to pull the rod out of the holder and put it and the angler in chair.the fight began and the anticipation of what is it.the battle at times seemed to be lost with the fish taking more than giving.it was not for an hour and a half that we started to gain line very slowly.it was at the 2and a half hour mark that a tail hooked 12ft 2inch theser shark said hello to us.we took a measurement and released this bieyed monster to the deep.a good time was had by all.

the fishing has been either great or so-so.when the sails are here great, with the big dolfin with them.the so-so days still produce some kings and ajs at the wrecks.also some small dolfin in 300 to 600ft mixed with blackfins. Hello Adam and Captain Nelson,
On behalf of the six tax nerd guys you took fishing on Tuesday, March 3rd, I wanted to let you know we had a FABULOUS time and sincerely appreciate the efforts of you and your crew in making a memorable fishing trip. I never thought we would catch three sailfish in a span of a couple of hours, but you did it. Attached are the photos of the trip for your photo albums, plus a few from the Loews Hotel on South Beach.
We look forward to returning soon for another fishing trip with you guys. This is 1 of 3 emails due to size of attachments.

february fishing
the last couple of weeks have been great.alot of sailfish action with double and triple hook-ups.even with no current the fish have been here.the kingfish were gone for a while but they are back with a vengeance.we limit out in a couple of hours but they are a pain when you are trying to sailfish.the nice surprise for the week are the big blackfin tunas,we did a couple that went close to 30lbs.also alot of cobia inside with the rays.tight lines to all see you soon.
Posted on 23 Feb 2009 by admin
january fun
the word for the last couple of weeks has definitely been sailfish.the bite is still active in the am then shuts down and comes back around 3pm.we are raising from 2 to 8 fish on 1/2 day trips.also the wrecks have been good with alot of jacks coming in.the kingfish are slow but we still have a few dolfin around, being caught on the troll and live bait.the bigger sharks are also coming back mainly t-heads.till next time tight lines to all.

sailfish and more
we have been very busy since christmas and alot of fish have been caught.the kite fishing has been great with a good wind and strong current.the sails are coming thru in pods with every fish you hook has some friends with it.the bite seems to be in the morning then shuts down mid day, then back on with fury in the afternoon,3pm or so.most sails are also very good size setting our light tackle on fire.with the strong currents also come the great shark fishing.we have hooked and caught mako,t-heads and a monster nurse that probably went well over300lbs.so get down here and lets get some fish.
Posted on 13 Jan 2009 by admin
winter kickoff
the kingfish have been abundant, more on the troll than livebait.with all the west wind we have had its been slow on the sailfish but everytime the wind shifts to northeast they come in strong.the wind has been southeast the last few days so our current should come in strong and keep the fish here.looking forward to a great winter season hope to see you all soon.
Posted on 19 Dec 2008 by admin
more dolfin
the past week was again full of dolfin.the sails slacked off a bit then came in with the strong winds over the weekend.the winds are now going to the east so we shall see what that brings in.till next time tight lines to all.
Posted on 24 Nov 2008 by admin
hello November
for the last couple of months the dolfin has been good, then november started and it became great.all the fish are gaffers and a few really big, like the 57 pounder caught on a hoo in 500ft of water.the kingfish have been getting larger now.then on tuesday the 11th the sailfish started coming in pods, which is alot of fun.so it looks like the winter season is off to a great start.hope to see my regulars and some new faces too, so come on down and lets catch some fish.
Posted on 12 Nov 2008 by admin
just fishing
well the last couple of weeks have been filled with a variety of fish,we had a multitude of black fin and skipjack tunas in 4 to 500ft.also there was alot of good size dolfin on scattered weed and color changes that were in the800 to 1000ft. range.the dolfin were not in large schools but they were good size.there are kingfish on the edge but most are small.we have strong winds this week so the blue water should come in soon and the sailfish will be more abundent.either way its been alot of fun with plenty of fish to be had.so lets go fishing!

stormwatch
well with the threat of a hurricane every other day and the media assuring us we are all going to die in the cone of uncertainty, probability or just as we call it ,the cone of death.we were in the 5day cone for ten days, somehow that tells me the 5day cone is a bit in error.hurricanes are dangerous and we all know it so i wish the media would stop with the drama and if you dont know where its going in 5 days then stop guessing.so stick with 3 day forecast and always be right.we still got out a bit and managed to catch some fish, yes even in the cone of death we can fish in very nice weather.the current has been slow,so the dolfin have come in closer.being caught in500 to 800 ft and better size to them, some small yellowfins but not as big or plentifull as we would like.the edge has been on and off with the kings being caught better on the troll than live bait.some sails around in the blue water, when the blue water comes in close the livebaiting has been good. well gotta go fishin so tight lines to you all.

threser
the dolfin are still here with most being 10miles plus offshore, there is also an occasional sailfish inside also, kingfish and bonito on the edge.on saturday while daytime swordfishing we hooked into a sea monster.the fish fought us for 3hrs. on a krystal 650 electric with 200lbs braid line.after much struggle and a very hot krystal we were able to bring to the boat a15ft6in big eye threser shark.it was truly a beatiful animal.we took many pics and released him back to the depths he came from.then we set back up and within minutes hooked a sword which came up and thrashed around 1500ft away from the boat after an hour of fighting it released itself from our grip and we brought up lead and hook only.oh well thats fishing.
Posted on 20 Aug 2008 by admin
daytime sword
the dolfin are here but still far offshore, some big ones, but mostly schoolies.the real story is the swordfish, you see while we are 15+miles offshore why not drop a rig in 1800ft of water to the bottom of the abyis and hook up one of these deepwater tasty monsters.the fight is unbelievable and your first look at one when it breaks the water will leave you hooked for life.the fish are ranging from 100lbs to some monters close to 500lbs.so stop thinking about it and book a boat to get you some mahi-mahi and then go look for one of these big sword weilding babies.
Posted on 05 Aug 2008 by admin
wow look at that wahoo
well there have been alot of dolphin but they have been at least 10miles off.the edge has been very slow with a few kings around and alot of bonitos, mainly small, the reason being lack of current.on monday the 15th the current picked up to a trickle so we decidede to shark fish.we butterflied 2 bonitos and 1 king, put one on top one mid and one on the bottom.we had just finished putting down the bottom rod when the top rod comes off the rigger,i accelarate the boat to set the hooks and the fish makes a screaming run making the penn 50wide sound like a jet on afterburner, then just as fast as it took off it stopped and surprisinglly came at the boat as fast as it swam away.rather strange for a shark, well 20 minutes later at the transom to our surprise we stuck the gaff in an 80lbs.wahoo that ate a 7lb bonito on a shark rig.THATS FISHING

the bahamas
the islands were great and a good time was had by all.the deep drops were good with alot of yellow eyes caught.also the bottom fishing was good and the yellowtails were busy.while bottom fishing we did a nice size king and of course the baracudas that kept stealing yellowtails.there were alot of dolphin in the pocket off the northwest channel light.most were 7 to 12lbs. but we did land a couple of nice 30+lbs.the weather was great with some rain showers mainly at night.now its time to go dolphin fishing in miami with the fish getting bigger and more abundant,so lets go fishing.

06-26-08
the current has been screaming in close so the fihing has been great,we had multiple sailfish fighting over baits and big skyrockreting kings.it was so good we would see a dolphin go to the bait then a sail would beat him to it and sailfish on.most of the fishing was done from the clips because of lack of wind.tis week we have wind but no current so it slowed a bit by wed. tho the kings are still here and the dolphin are still coming thru.well im off to fish the bahamas for 10 days so i should have some good stories in 2 weeks.

5-27 thru 6-17-08
the end of may was a bit slow, then a strong east wind came in and really got things going the first week of june, the sailfish were here better than winter with 2and 3 fish fighting over the same bait, then the winds died and so did the fishing.but not too bad still able to pick up a blackfin tuna here and there and some sails also dolphin but small.most of the activity seems to be in 140 to 180ft.the best activity was with live chum and a better bite in the pm with the seabreeze.
Posted on 18 Jun 2008 by admin
5-19thru5-26-08
the week was full of kingfish and a few sailfish, then towards the middle of the week the dolphin showed up on the edge not big but still a few gaffers in there, there were also a couple of 30# + caught in 1000ft.its time to start looking offshore for the dolphin.

Hey Captain Nelson,
Hope this finds you well.
I was out with you on Tuesday, May 6th, with the group from AIG. We hooked that 11ft female t-head.
We got some pictures back from one of the other folks. I can send to you, if they have not already.
I recall you mentioned a website that you would be posting to, but can’t recall the address. Can you please let me know what that address is again. I think it had something to do with mia, but don’t know for certain.
Thanks again for a very memorable trip. Both you and Adam did a great job keeping us informed and entertained, even during the first hour and a half when nothing was going on. I guess it sort of made it more fun and suspenseful to go without for a couple of hours before wrestling a hammerhead for a couple of hours!
Best of luck to you and Adam.
I will look forward to hearing from you.

week of 4-28-08
this week has been filled with adventure, the dolphin are here but smaller, the sailfish are busy at the edge and the kingfish are great.but one story that sticks out is on tuesday.it was 450pm 3 shark rigs out, then the bottom rod goes off, fish on strap the angler to chair and begin what would be a long and hard night,6pm it starts raining no sight of whats on,7pm wind comes up to 15kts no color yet.8pm darkness begins to fall upon us,what is this monster that wont be seen.830pm xavier the angler cant lift rod anymore must put in nicolas(jimmy neutron)9pm jimmy neutrons right arm cramps, well its time for the mate to (adam)to step in,wind now ne at20 to 25kts heavy rain and thunder and lightning, sea to 8ft with a few cresting swells coming into cockpit like a rushing river.10pm xavier back in chair with adam and neutron lifting rod,1030pmOH MY GOD LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT.we see color its big and has a huge pectoral spread and then there it goes again spooling out my 150lbs powerpro line out like a flyrod 100,200 300ftat 600ftof line gone it stops and we start the long journey of bringing it back to boat.12midnight its at the back of the boat.its a 1000lbs+ 15ft tiger who is still not happy.adam grabs the 400lbs leader cuts the lead off comes tight and as he inches the fish closer with me manuevering the boat as to make this monster come to us,the line goes limp and i see this magnificent creature swim back to the depths of the ocean.the fish after 7hrs had eatan thru the #15wire and earned its freedom.first we were sad then appreciative and content that this animal gave us an opportunity to do battle with him.hope to see him again some day.
